For those who need to get furniture and home accessories right away, you should hire an IKEA delivery service through Airtasker—it is both safe and convenient. But due to the social distancing measures and shortened hours for Ikea stores, you’ll have to wait for your turn to enter the store if you chose to purchase items yourself. Many items have sold out, and Ikea is experiencing difficulty in restocking and making deliveries with their in-house service.
By booking taskers to collect your IKEA items, you don’t have to wait a whole week for your items to be delivered. After making your order at the nearest store, create a job posting for your delivery. It’s not possible to add items to your IKEA delivery order once you have made the order, as IKEA has shortened store hours and reduced staff. All you can do is track your ordered items if you chose to have IKEA deliver them.
At the moment, it’s not possible. Although IKEA is operating seven days a week, its store hours have been restricted to 9 am to 5 pm. IKEA's in-house delivery service is currently swamped with orders, so the usual time frame for which you can expect them to deliver items to your home is at least a week.Â
Due to the high demand for IKEA products and this service, Taskers who offer the IKEA delivery service may be busy with other tasks. While you are encouraged to post a delivery date of your choosing, please note that Taskers may not be able to deliver your items on your desired date. Rest assured that Taskers will try their best to meet your delivery date.
IKEA’s in-house delivery service staff receive a regular salary, so it is not necessary to tip them. Note that the job posting you made is an already-agreed upon price, and Taskers cannot demand any additional tips, nor are you obliged to give them. What do Ikea Delivery services include?
As the name implies, the Ikea delivery service is just that—delivery of your Ikea purchases from the nearest Ikea store to your home. But as this service entails using a third-party supplier to pick up your Ikea purchases, do note that you must use Ikea’s Click and Collect Service, then provide the necessary documents to the Tasker to ensure they can collect your items from the store. The Click and Collect service is only available in Ikea’s stores at Bristol, Exeter, Leeds, Tottenham, Warrington, Wembley, and of course in Belfast, Northern Ireland.Â
Note that Taskers will adhere to Covid-19 social distancing measures for delivery, and can only bring your items as far as your front door or porch. Taskers cannot bring the items inside your home, nor can they assist in the assembly of the items. Be sure there is someone to receive the items when Taskers arrive.Â
Delivery to your Doorstep
Once you’ve availed of Ikea’s Click and Collect Service, you will have to furnish Taskers with the necessary receipt or invoice to enable them to collect your items at the Ikea store. The store will practice social distancing measures and claiming the items will be a contact-free process. After they’ve obtained your items, Taskers will inform you of receipt of said items and give you an ETA as they proceed to make the delivery.
Contact-free Delivery
As soon as Taskers arrive at your home with your items, they will only place them on outside your doorstep at a covered area. Due to strict rules on social distancing, Taskers will maintain a distance of at least 2 metres away from you and will not enter your home. Unless specified or booked separately, Taskers cannot assist in the placement, installation or assembly of any of your items once they arrive at your home or delivery address.Â
