What’s included with your lawn mowing service?

A standard lawn mowing service involves cutting the grass to between 5-10 cms (2”- 4”), normally using a petrol lawnmower. Lawn mowing contractors will usually bring their own equipment, plus bags to take the rubbish away. If you have a large garden or acreage, a ride on mower might be required, so make sure you specify the size of the area in your post.

But it doesn’t have to end there. Many lawn mowing service providers offer other inclusions along with the mowing, like...

Edging and whipper snipping

Lawn mowing professionals will have a whipper snipper (and other tools) to give your lawn sharp edges and stop your grass from growing onto the footpath or curbs. They’ll also clean around garden beds, trees, and features for a clean, professional finish.

Rubbish removal

Your gardener may use a leaf blower or broom to remove cut grass from the pathways and edges to leave a clear surface. They’ll also take away any lawn clippings, twigs, and any debris that was on the grass before cutting. If you prefer, you can ask that they leave the grass clippings for you to use as mulch or compost.

Fertilising

Keeping your lawns lush and green requires regular feeding and should be part of your garden maintenance. Knowing which fertilisers to apply and when can make the difference between golf-club enviable green and corn flakes crunchy lawns. Strong, healthy lawns need less watering and are more weed resistant.

Weed killing

Keeping weeds out of your lawns will make them a more welcoming place to play, rest, and relax without worrying about prickles and spikes. Regular trimming, manual weed removal, and organic or chemical weed kill will keep your lawns looking a lot healthier, too. You might also add on weeding for your garden beds so your whole garden can look tidy.

Leaf blowing

Leaves on your grass and driveway not only look messy but can create a hazard if they get wet and slippery. Your gardener can provide leaf blowing services and a garden tidy up, including removing the dry leaves.

Aerating

Would love someone to please mow the front and back yard and tidy the edging along the front driveway and small footpath that leads to the clothesline in the backyard. Please bring own equipment. There is a green bin but already almost full - could squash in clippings into green and red bin. If it doesn’t fit, clippings can be scattered over back garden in the far back right-hand corner. Need lawn to be left relatively neat and tidy without lawn clippings scattered all over the concrete or big clumps on the lawn. If someone could please come today (5 March) or tomorrow (6 March) that would be fantastic!
