Hi, I need a carpenter/handyman to inspect and repair a small section of timber decking that has rotted through. Some boards are soft, cracked, and have holes, so the area may be unsafe to walk on. Scope needed: * Inspect the damaged deck area and supporting joists underneath * Remove rotten/damaged boards * Replace with suitable outdoor treated timber/decking boards * Check if any joists/supports are also rotten and advise/repair if needed * Secure boards properly with outdoor screws * Dispose of old rotten timber * Match existing deck as closely as possible * Optional: apply outdoor seal/stain if recommended Please bring tools and advise what materials are needed, or include materials in your quote. Park beside the job. Flooring and Pine studs all stacked ready, next to the job. We can supply all necessary tools or use yours, as we negotiate. We are converting our woodworking shop into extra shade sail space so the shop has a lot of tools ready to use. Settle up daily and listed price is for 4 hours work to start with.

I recently had timber floorboards installed in my apartment and the workmanship is poor, with approximately 20 noticeable gaps left between boards throughout the floor. The original installer has refused to return and rectify the work. I have spare matching floorboards available. I’m looking for an experienced flooring installer, carpenter or handyman who can assess the floor and repair/fill the gaps professionally so the finished result looks seamless and blends with the existing floor. The aim is to eliminate the visible gaps without compromising the appearance of the flooring.
