What do console repair services include?

The game console repair service includes all the tasks necessary to make a non-working or malfunctioning game console work as intended. To repair popular consoles like the PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, your console repairman can do troubleshooting followed by the needed repairs. After completing the repairs, they can test the system to ensure the console is back to its original working order.

Troubleshooting the problem

Your console repair specialist begins by inspecting the different functions and components of your gaming console. They may also check each game disc for dirt or scratches if reading or loading errors occur. Your specialist inspects the cables, controllers, connection ports for issues. The monitor or TV and the Wi-Fi are checked as appropriate for any video, audio or connectivity problems. Once the problem is found, your console repair specialist works on the necessary fixes.

Checking connections

Your console repairman checks all the connections that lead to and from the gaming console. This includes the HDMI cables, the HDMI ports on both the TV or monitor and the console, the power plugs and the controller ports. Your specialist can also check your internet for connectivity problems and do the appropriate fixes.

Cleaning the internal parts

Defective gaming consoles can trace some of their problems to issues with heat management. The cooling fan usually causes this, along with the heat sink and other internal parts choked with dirt and debris.

Your console repair specialist disconnects the console, shuts off the power and opens your game console’s case. They then clean the fan, heat sink, hard disk if any, and other parts with a non-static brush or blast from a can of compressed air. The case is reassembled once all the cleaning is done.

Rewiring the console and controllers

Some issues on your gaming console or its parts may be due to wires that have snapped or got cut from excessive bending. Your console repair specialist can check the wires on the controllers, HDMI cable or other connecting cables, and the power cable. Should any cut wires be discovered, your specialist can install new wires and splice or solder new connections.

Replacing the non-working components

Any parts that no longer work on your consoles, such as the cooling fan on your PS4 or Xbox or the PS4 hard disk can be replaced if necessary. Note that your specialist may not have the replacement parts ready, so you must purchase these. Some specialists may offer to go to the console repair store to get these parts for you for a small additional fee.

Testing the game console after repair

After your hired repair specialist has applied the fixes, they can test the console. They can check that the game loads up and works, both controllers function and respond as they should, and the video, audio and internet connectivity work as expected. If any issues arise, your repair specialist repeats the diagnostic and repair process until the console works without any problems.

Painter / Plasterer Needed – End of Lease Wall Repairs & Touch-Ups

$480

St Peters NSW, Australia

19th Jan 2026

We’re moving out of a rental after 8 years and are looking for an experienced painter and wall patcher / plasterer to help get the walls back to a good, presentable condition. There are various marks, small holes, dents, and scuffs across the house from general wear and tear, hanging items, and a dog (some scratching on doors). This is very much an end-of-lease tidy-up, not a full repaint. The job is for 8 hours total, focusing on getting as much done as possible in that time rather than aiming for perfection. Property details: • 3-bedroom house • House will be completely empty • Walls + some doors need attention What’s included / not included: • ✅ Paint will be supplied (matched and ready) • ✅ Drop sheets provided • ❌ You’ll need to bring your own tools (brushes, rollers, buckets, sanding tools, etc.) • I will patch what I can the day before so it has time to dry Timing: • Monday 2nd February • Ideally 9:00am – 5:00pm (or as close as possible) Important notes: • This job is based on time, not a fixed outcome • We understand that repairs and painting don’t always go perfectly from A → B • Photos of example damage will be attached to give a clear idea of the work involved Looking for someone reliable, efficient, and experienced with end-of-lease repairs.

Soooo good, highly recommend

Paint Touchups (Kitchen) with Attention to Detail

$400

Mascot NSW, Australia

25th Nov 2025

Hi there! We’ve just had a new kitchen installed and are looking for an experienced painter to help with a few finishing touches. Scope of work: 1) Paint an MDF bulkhead to match existing wall colour (Dulux Natural White – low sheen Wash & Wear) 2) Ceiling needs either a full repaint or touch-ups where plaster work was done (Dulux Natural White – flat) 3) One small section beside the dishwasher requiring either a touch-up or repaint of the whole wall. 4) Paint a half-wall on the front And if you have any advice on some of our badly painted vents/sprinkler in there, we're open to that too! Trim throughout the area is Dulux Natural White – semi-gloss, if that's needed. What we’re after: -- Someone who’s comfortable with small to medium jobs -- Quality finish that blends with the existing paintwork Photos attached for reference. Thanks! Kristiana

Ibrahim did some painting for us after a kitchen renovation (bulkhead, ceiling and half wall) but also offered to touch up a few other spots around our home while he was on site! Friendly and wonderful service, the paint quality is well done.

Plaster damaged wall surface, make good skirting and paint wall gaps

$550

Newtown NSW 2042, Australia

23rd Nov 2025

I had two built-in in robes removed (eg one in each bedroom). The installer used liquid nails on some elements which took off the wall render where it was affixed. To install at parts of the robe they have also trimmed out the skirting board to make elements fit flush to the internal wall. It would be great to get a quote from you to 1) make good the rendering 2) paint the walls from behind the cupboards to match the new wall paint (I'm happy to supply this) 3) remove the skirting behind these areas where new robes will be coming in) 4) plaster or make good where the skirting is removed to create an even wall surface / no gaps between the walls/ flooring 5) infill a small portion of the skirting on the short wall where the new robe is going in. The removed robe was deeper and the skirting has been cut out at the front so will end prematurely. Would be great to fill this in 6) treat the skirting so it looks like a uniform finish I can send photos etc if the area. I'm not sure where you're located but I'm in Newtown, happy to do a site visit for a quote. My only constraint is I have the new robes arriving on Friday so I would really like to get this done in the next couple of weeks as my house is quite small so I keen to get the robes in and use the storage!!

Sui is great to work with, efficient and helpful. Good quality job and very pleasant person as well :)

Smooth two cement steps

$500

Rosebery NSW, Australia

2nd Nov 2025

I have two short cement steps under a sliding door that need to be smoothed and levelled out. They were previously tiled and now have a rough cement finish that I’d like to make even and ready for future sealing or painting. Dimensions: • Step 1: approx. 5.5 m long × 12 cm high • Step 2: approx. 2.7 m long × 12 cm high What’s required: • Lightly sand, patch, or skim-coat both steps with a fine render or levelling compound (e.g. Dunlop Fine Coat, Ardex Feather Finish, or equivalent) • Ensure smooth, even surface and clean edges along the flooring and door frame • No painting or sealing needed — just a clean, neat finish This price is for labour only. I’m happy to cover or purchase all materials — the Tasker can let me know exactly what’s needed.

Adam was great! He showed up on time, did exactly what was needed, and did a really good job. Super friendly and easy to deal with too. Highly recommend!

Install Philips EasyKey DDL615 Smart Lock (Retrofit to Existing Door)

$150

Alexandria NSW 2015, Australia

16th Oct 2025

Looking for an experienced locksmith or handyman to install a Philips EasyKey DDL615 smart mortice lock on a timber front door. This is a retrofit job – the door currently has a DORMA mortice lock installed (photos attached). The new lock will use the same mortice cavity, but the front face holes will need to be enlarged slightly to fit the Philips lock template. Job details: • Door thickness: 40 mm (1.57 inches) • Backset: 60 mm (2.36 inches) • Door material: solid timber veneer • Current mortice: DORMA (standard Australian 60 mm backset) • New lock: Philips EasyKey DDL615 smart lock • Some minor chiselling or hole enlargement.

Nathan did an excellent job installing my Philips smart lock. He was punctual, professional, and very easy to deal with. His attention to detail was spot on, clean, precise work with everything operating perfectly. He even came back promptly the next day when we realised we needed a different strike plate, no fuss at all. Highly recommend Nathan for any lock or smart lock installation, a real professional who takes pride in his work.
