The stem on the tap valve for the hot & cold taps in our shower is not long enough to get from the supply pipe to the tile: There is not enough exposed thread onto which the 'collar' of the handle itself can be fixed. This has cause the collars to come off, exposing the hole in the waterproof membrane behind the tiles. We need to have the valve replaced with a longer one, and the hole in the membrane sealed around the valve. In addition, water pressure from the shower head is too low. Is there a restricter or "water-saving" component that can be removed? (I have no specific cost in mind, so please disregard the $99 suggestion here - I will consider any reasonable, itemised quote). Bought some new taps from Bunnings but having trouble fitting them in the bathroom. Also having trouble with the shower lately after changing the head.
