We bought some lights off Etsy and whilst all the electrical is in order, they are not Australian certified. They are travertine reading lights, with LEDs. Looking for an electrician or lighting repair specialist to assess whether these imported Etsy LED reading lights can be safely rewired with Australian-approved components and installed. If possible, we’d also like them electrically tested. Plus, we have a tall lounge room lamp, but the foot switch has stopped working and doesn’t stay on, it only stays on if you keep your foot on it

The fan speed controller has been wired correctly; however, the bedroom light switches were not rewired from the original wall switch to the new switch on the fan controller. I’m looking for a licensed electrician to rewire the lighting in all three bedrooms so the light is controlled from the new fan/light switch panel instead of the old switch. I’m looking for a quote to modify approximately 20 existing light-switch locations, as I'm looking to replace these with smart switches. At each location, I need the existing switch plate removed, the relevant lighting circuits combined where there are multiple switches, and the wiring connected to a single (owner-supplied) Shelly 1PM installed safely inside the wall cavity. Each location currently has between one and four switches. All lights at that location can operate together from the one Shelly. I will install battery-powered wireless switches over the existing wall openings afterward. Please include labour, testing, any required connectors, and the Electrical Safety Certificate. My house is only a few years old and has the needed neutral wiring at each switch. I understand the Shelly units are owner-supplied. I will manage any future device faults or replacements myself, and any failed unit will be replaced like-for-like. I would only expect follow-up for issues directly related to the installation workmanship. I expect the straightforward locations to take approximately 15–20 minutes each. Please quote a fixed day rate for up to 20 locations, with any locations requiring additional cabling or fault-finding treated as variations.

The lamp requires an on-off switch on the electrical cord rather than at the base of the light bulb etc.
