Looking for someone experienced with timber decking to refresh our outdoor deck (approximately 8.5 m × 2.7 m). We are unsure of which timber it is. The timber is structurally sound but looks faded and dull. There are also a few small paint splatters from the previous owners. We’re offering $250 for labour, and we will supply the decking oil and cleaning products if you specify what is needed. The job would involve cleaning, preparing the surface as needed, removing the small paint splatters where possible, and applying decking oil to restore the rich reddish-brown colour. Repair/adjust loose merbau decking boards, front and back of house. * There are half a dozen boards that need reaffixing (nails not screws), some of these need to be realigned too (maybe using some sort of spacer to hold them in position). * There is one section of 3-4 boards that has a slight spring to it, I suspect the joist needs fixing. * While you're here, I'll also ask you to punch back in any other nails which have risen over the years (maybe 20- 30 nails in total). The deck is approximately 6.7m x 3.2m and is worn/weathered in some areas. We’re open to recommendations and pricing options, to replace only the worst affected boards/panels and restore/re-varnish. Job includes all standard preparation steps: - Sweep and remove debris between boards - Tighten a couple of screws and maybe other minor repairs if deemed necessary (after consultation with me) - Wash/scrub using deck cleaner, rinse, let dry completely (planks are a bit old so no high-pressure washer) - Sand first with low grit to strip old coating then medium grit for smoothing (planks are a bit uneven so no floor sanding machine) - Sweep/brush to remove any sanding dust - Wash using timber brightener, rinse, let dry Job does not include oiling (will do myself). I can provide materials and tools apart from sander. Timing will be weather dependent before mid-February.

My timber deck (~20 sqm) requires cleaning and oiling using the Cabot's decking products. Cabot's products to be supplied by owner including cleaning brush, applicator head and bucket. Two coats required. Care to be taken to protect nearby walls, fences, umbrella, pool pumps and tiles. Application of protective tape (or similar) required prior to application of oil. Cutting in around the edges with a paintbrush by hand required. Also application with a paintbrush required around pool equipment, edge of pool and below pool fence. Experience with oiling decks required.

Old decking and joists underneath decking needs to be removed. I can dispose of it all so just need it chopped to approximately 40cm lengths. Beams (joists) also need to be chopped to the same length. Does not need unscrewing so should be pretty straightforward. - Due date: Needs to be done as soon as possible.
