I have a 2017 21.5 inch iMac 4k Retina Display. Has recently begun making clicking/knocking sounds and is very slow to start up. Is only used for the internet as a 2nd computer for studying. So don't need it to be high speed, just to function without the click.So not looking to put a SSD in a HDD will do just fine. It works totally fine including browsing but everything I have read says this is most likely a drive issue on its way out.
