I am looking for an experienced carpenter or door installer to carefully hang and fit an existing solid timber front door in Macedon, VIC. The door has an existing timber frame and sidelights. I have purchased the hardware, including: • Raven RP81 automatic door-bottom seal, 820 mm • Three heavy-duty hinges • Roller lock / catch and strike plate • Electronic deadbolt and strike/keeper Work required • Inspect the existing door, jamb and current hardware positions. • Carefully adjust/plane the door only if required, so it has even gaps and closes freely. • Mark out, mortise and fit three hinges accurately to the door and jamb. • Hang the door and ensure it opens, closes and latches smoothly. • Rout/rebate the bottom of the door to fit the supplied Raven RP81 automatic door-bottom seal. • Install and adjust the door-bottom seal so it drops correctly against the threshold when the door closes. • Fit and align the roller latch/catch and strike plate. • Fit and align the supplied electronic deadbolt and strike/keeper. • Test all hardware and confirm the door operates properly. Important This is a first-fit installation. Once the door and all hardware are correctly fitted and tested, I will remove the door myself for painting/finishing, then reinstall it using the established hinge and hardware positions. I need someone careful and experienced with solid timber exterior doors, hinge mortises, routing/rebates, locks and accurate alignment. I do not want excessive trimming or rough/oversized cut-outs. I will provide the door and all main hardware shown in the photos. Please bring suitable door-hanging, routing/mortising, drilling and fitting tools, plus any required consumables or minor fixings. The shelf has started pulling away from the wall after supporting bottles of alcohol. It appears the adhesive or existing fixing has failed, and I don’t want it simply glued back into place. We have a large wooden wardrobe which we need to remove intact from wall in order to replace carpet in the room (currently sitting on top of old carpet). Wood strips on either side can be removed/replaced. May require 2 people We would like to ultimately keep this wardrobe, so a no damage removal is needed. It seems to be anchored to wall with some screws, but may require an onsite inspection first to work out next steps. Budget starting point- Please quote for cost to detach and move away from wall so the wall area can be cleaned/carpet removed. Needs to be done tomorrow (Wednesday) before painters come in.
