Steering wheel goes very stiff when attempting to turn left or right. A mechanic has already inspected and advised that the steering rack on the vehicle needs to be replaced.

I am pretty sure my car has a leak in the coolant system as the coolant seems to drain quickly, the engine has been overheating and recently it has been steaming. I am hoping to fix it myself but need to figure out exactly what parts need replacing first. I do not have a universal cooling system pressure test kit, so if someone has one of these and is willing to come do the test, it would save me buying a kit. Look forward to hearing from you.
