Looking for an experienced carpenter / handyman to inspect and repair a timber pergola corner post and beam connection. One corner of the pergola has timber rot/water damage around the joint area. I have already removed some of the soft/rotted timber, and now need someone to: - inspect the extent of the damage, - assess whether it is cosmetic or structural, - recommend the best repair approach, - and carry out the repair if suitable. The pergola is still standing straight overall, but the timber around one corner joint appears to have deteriorated from long-term moisture exposure. Repair may involve: - timber repair/splicing, - epoxy repair, - partial timber replacement, - sanding/repainting/sealing, - and improving waterproofing around the joint. Please only apply if you have experience with outdoor timber structures, pergolas, or timber rot repairs.
