Task Description I am looking for an experienced carpenter or deck builder to replace my existing timber decking with high-quality composite decking (e.g., Trex, Ekodeck, or ModWood). The project involves: • Inspection: A thorough check of the existing sub-frame/joists to confirm if they are structurally sound, level, and suitable for composite boards. • Advice/Supply: Expert advice on the best composite brand/model for durability and a calculation of exactly how many boards, hidden fasteners, and breaker boards are required. I am open to the contractor supplying materials or providing a shopping list. • Demolition: Removal and disposal of the old timber decking boards. • Installation: Professional installation of the composite boards (approx. 6.9m x 4.3m) using hidden fixing systems for a clean finish. Requirements: • Must have experience specifically with composite materials (knowledge of thermal expansion gaps is essential). • Must bring all necessary tools (circular saw, impact driver, leveling tools). • Please provide photos of previous composite deck installations in your offer. • Please indicate in your quote if you are quoting for labor only or supply and install.

I need my timber floor leveled so we can install boards over the top. At the moment it has a significant raised area in the hallway. This area needs to be removed and replaced with plywood or chip wood so it is at least straight enough for installation of floorboards over the top.

Hi Airtaskers, seeking a quote for the following work: Our rear timber deck (approx. 7m x 4m) has deteriorated a little over time. While it’s still structurally sound and usable, we’re looking to have the existing nails replaced with decking screws, followed by a sand and reseal. Our timber bifold doors are also in need of a sand and reseal. Currently, only one leaf of the bifolds opens smoothly, while the others scrape along the internal timber floorboards when opened. Given the house is a 1960s build, we suspect some movement may have occurred over time. Looking for either repair/realignment of the bifolds as part of the same job, or advice on whether this component requires a bifold install specialist to take a look. Appreciate it may be difficult to quote on the bifold door repairs (aside from sanding and resealing) without an onsite inspection. Cheers, Hugh
