I’m looking for a qualified mechanic to complete a pre-purchase inspection on a 2017 Hyundai Kona elite before I decide to buy it. The inspection should cover the overall mechanical condition (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, tyres and underbody), along with the exterior and interior condition, including any signs of previous damage or wear. Please also check the electrical and electronic systems such as dashboard warning lights, infotainment, sensors, reverse camera and safety features, and run a diagnostic scan. I would also prefer a short road test to help identify any unusual noises or performance issues. I’m mainly looking for honest advice on any mechanical or safety concerns, along with a brief written summary after the inspection. The vehicle is located around Lane Cove, and I’m hoping this can be done on Monday 2nd March between 3:00–4:00 pm.

My elderly mother’s little Hyundai i20 2014 broke down - again, recently. She’s only done 70000km in it and has already had the whole motor replaced (with what I believe was a 2nd-hand motor). Apparently (secondhand information), she’s been told in the past by an RACV attendant that one of the cylinders has gone but when it more recently broke down the RACV attendant didn’t mention the cylinders and said it was overheating due to a spark plug issue. She is very old and vulnerable (probably her last year driving), so I would really appreciate someone to o come out asap (the car was towed by RACV to her home in Carnegie) and give an honest assessment and idea of cost. If it is affordable we are happy to go through with the repair asap.
