The roof leak has already been repaired by another specialist, so this job is for restoring the internal ceiling only. The work should include: Inspect and prepare: Check that the exposed area is dry and suitable for repair, tidy the damaged edges, and reposition any displaced insulation. Please flag any additional damage or insulation that needs replacing before proceeding. Repair the plasterboard: Supply and install matching plasterboard with suitable backing/support, then tape, plaster and sand the joints to achieve a smooth, flush finish. Prime and paint: Prime the repaired area and paint to match the existing ceiling as closely as possible. Please advise whether repainting the entire ceiling would be necessary for a consistent finish, and quote that separately. Protect and clean up: Protect the room, nearby downlights and exposed services during the work, and remove all repair debris afterwards. Strong winds entered the underside of the roof over the rear alfresco area, tearing away a large section of the ceiling lining. Damage: • Large section of alfresco ceiling lining torn off, exposing timber roof framing and battens • Detached sheets blown into the rear yard; fragments scattered across the patio.
