We have tried to install a stair gate a couple of times and it keeps pulling out of the wall (shared brick wall in an old terrace). The hallway space we are installing it in also seems to be crooked so it won’t quite fit properly. Several rivet holes have been drilled into a metal gate that needs to be repaired. The rivets have been removed. Only holes remain to be repaired. I need to understand whether it is possible to patch the holes or if a new gate is required? How would you patch with filler or weld the holes closed? Secondly, a quote for the cost of patching?
