Advice on what to plant selection for new garden - just looking for ideas

I’m looking for an experienced/knowledgeable person to meet on site and suggest plant selection and placement of plants for a rear courtyard type garden. I have attached photos to assist. I understand it’s a small job, but understand there will be an hourly fee or whatever. The yard is some 9.25m wide with the rear fence on the rear southern boundary, about 7.0m deep with a lower section which is probably about 2.0m deep Currently its mostly lawn with about 1.0m strip along the rear fence line which is just mulch and I’m guessing with a clay soil below. That's the area i want to plant up. I wasn't really thinking of anything too formal, but maybe espaliered citrus on the rear fence, but open to all suggestions and then cottage-y type shrubs etc in front to provide colour and fill in the area below the taller trees with things like lavender, geranium, daisy, maybe a few annuals. I'm happy to install a drip watering system to make watering easy. Maybe include some further planting on either side fence. I have an Airedale terrier and would look to keep the bulk of the lawn area. I’m primarily concerned about selection and placement of plants.

There are 2 tasks: 1. Gardening - Weeding rear yard and side yard near fish pond (very long weeds). Happy for this to be whipper-snippered back to the line of the concrete edging rather than all weeds pulled out by hand. - Prune bushes along pathways and surrounding fish pond - Rear garden area approx 10m wide x 5m deep (1m wide planting strip along edge of fences) 2. Clean fish pond - Pond needs a full clean. Pond is L-shaped, roughly 5m x 3.5m along the legs of the “L” x 0.6m wide. It is approx 0.3m deep. - There is loads of algae suspended in the pond which will need to be removed. Also, there is algae covering the surface of rocks in the pond which will need to be brushed/scraped off with a stiff bristle brush (please provide, I don’t have one) - Pond filter also needs to be cleaned

Overgrown and some dry plants to be cut back or removed and loose dry leaves cleared from front garden ad taken away from 3x4 front garden - Due date: Needs to be done on Wednesday, 1 February 2023
