I have a SMEG 4 burner gas cooktop that is making a ticking noise even when burners are turned off. The igniters on all 4 burners are sparking. They light up fine, but the noise is constant unless the electricity is turned off. Looking for someone to repair asap. Location is Maribyrnong

I have just purchased a new unit in Footscray and the owner has left a new gas cooktop to install replace the old one. One of the knobs on my gas cooktop seems to be very sticky, resulting in a constant clicking. I have tried so many times to clean / dry / take off knob part but with no success. I took the actual knob part off which fixed it the sound for a little while (but I couldn't use this gas burner), however at the moment, whenever the cooker is turned on at the wall it keeps clicking (even with the knob removed).
