I am looking for an experienced and reliable tradesperson to restore my timber deck, ramp, and stairs, including painting the balustrades and frame. The deck is structurally sound but has significant surface weathering, patchy staining, and some mould in shaded areas. The scope of work includes: 🔨 Scope of Works 1. Inspection & Preparation • Inspect deck, ramp, and stairs for loose fixings or damaged boards (replace or secure if required – small allowance included in your quote). • Fill and sand any patched areas on balustrades and frame. 2. Deck Cleaning & Treatment • Apply commercial-grade deck cleaner/brightener to remove dirt, mould, and greying. • Pressure wash and allow to dry fully. 3. Sanding • Machine sand deck, ramp, and stairs to remove old finish and smooth timber (approx. 30–35 m²). • Edge sand and hand sand around posts and stairs. 4. Coating – Deck • Apply 2–3 coats of high-quality decking oil or stain (Cutek, Intergrain, or Cabot’s – to be confirmed with me before starting). • Include anti-slip additive in the final coat on stairs and ramp for safety. 5. Coating – Balustrades & Frame • Sand, prime (if needed), and apply 2 coats of exterior-grade paint (e.g., Dulux Weathershield) to all balustrades and frame. 📏 Approximate Areas • Deck, ramp & stairs: ~30–35 m² • Balustrade/frame: ~20–25 linear metres ⸻ 🛠️ Requirements • Proven experience with deck restorations or exterior painting (please provide photos of past work). • Own equipment (sander, applicators, pressure washer, PPE). • Use quality products (discuss and agree before purchase). • Must leave site tidy and safe at the end of each day.

The job includes: * Cleaning the deck before application (it’s clean but might need a wash) * Applying 1–2 coats of decking stain (stain provided) * Ensuring even coverage and clean finish The deck is in decent condition (only built last year), just needs a freshen-up. You can bring your own tools (brushes, applicators, drop sheets, etc) or I can purchase what you need. Flexible with timing, but would prefer it done within the next week or two.
