Part-Time Personal Assistant (5–6 hours per fortnight) I’m looking for a highly organised personal assistant to support me with a mix of administrative and ad hoc tasks. The role will begin with in-person meetings in Darlinghurst and may evolve to include more remote work, depending on what suits both of us. I am a self-represented litigant who has a completed law degree (never practiced),and I am preparing for a 3-day contested hearing for a summary matter in the Magistrates’ Court. This matter involves complex issues of police procedure, admissibility, surveillance, claim of right, and missing witnesses. I have decided to self represent for a little bit of fun as well as the fact the lawyers picnic so far has cost me $100,000 in legal fees and I am no further advanced than when I was charged, i also take the view in life that things cant be that hard! While much of the legal research is complete, I need competent practical assistance with court process, organization, and procedural support. many years ago i was a budding law student this type of gig would have appealed to me no risk to your professional reputation if we loose, but a great badge for your resume if we win (which we will). Tasks include: Collating and organizing material for trial Formatting submissions, outlines, and annexures Assisting with witness and cross-examination preparation Navigating registry processes, timelines, and document filing Taking notes and helping manage exhibits and references during the hearing Attending court in person for the hearing for 3 days at end of July. Ideal for: Law students in final years or recent graduates seeking hands-on courtroom experience Those familiar with criminal law, evidence, or procedural law Someone practical, organized, and reliable who is comfortable supporting a fast-moving matter. Someone who has personality and loves a joke and doesn't take life to seriously. Location: Brighton- (remote possible, but base is Brighton) Time Commitment: Immediate start, I estimate about 30 hours plus – 3-day trial support, other than the 3 day hearing I have no idea the prep hours but I am really negotiable.
