Garage door is 6.5 ft high, 8 feet wide. The door itself is built, but I can't for the life of me get it to line up in the track. The door won't sit flush against the frame. The door is an extension spring system, which will need to be installed. Stop molding will also need to be installed. Workspace is limited, I won't say that we're hoarders, but we are definitely pack rats. I need a handyman or carpenter to come to my apartment IMMEDIATELY today to secure an inward-opening door. The previous wooden doorjamb has been completely destroyed and kicked clear out of the wall, so standard locks or frame-mounted hardware are completely useless. We need to completely bypass the broken frame and mount heavy security hardware directly into the subfloor or the wall studs. WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE: Option A: Drill straight through ceramic floor tile into the subfloor (concrete or wood joists) to anchor a heavy metal floor-mount barricade plate (like a Nightlock baseplate). Option B: Bypass the broken doorjamb completely, locate the structural studs 3+ inches out in the drywall on both sides of the door, and mount heavy-duty drop-bar brackets deep into the studs using 4" or 5" structural screws to hold a solid security bar. REQUIRED TOOLS TO BRING: - High-powered drill / impact driver - Carbide-tipped or diamond-tipped masonry drill bits (essential to drill through ceramic floor tile without burning out) - Stud finder (to locate the framing hidden behind the drywall) - Selection of heavy-duty fasteners: 3" to 4" structural lag screws (for wood subfloors/studs) and Tapcon/expansion anchors (in case the subfloor is concrete) The tile floor WILL be drilled into and damaged to get this secured—preserving the tile is NOT a priority. Sheer holding power and securing the opening right now is the only objective. Please reply only if you have these tools on hand and can arrive TODAY.
