Top Pool Maintenance related questions
The cost of swimming pool maintenance can range from £45 to £85 per hour. For pool cleaning costs, the rates range from £75 to £300. Set a budget and provide the details of your task to find a professional in swimming pool maintenance in your area.Â
A clear pool doesn't necessarily mean that it's clean and fit for swimming. A pool's filtration system needs weekly maintenance to remove any dirt and debris build up. Water must also be disinfected regularly using the right pool chemicals to keep algae, bacteria, and fungi at bay. Ultimately, weekly pool maintenance and service can keep your swimming pool clean and safe for swimming and save you any further damage costs in the long run.
Booking your pool service a few days to a week ahead is ideal. Doing so gives you enough time to prepare your swimming pool, especially if you’re planning to hold a party or an intimate gathering in your garden. However, if you need it serviced right away, that’s no problem as well. Airtasker can help you find pool maintenance experts in your area who can get straight to work, so you can soon get the most out of your swimming pool.
The green discolouration is due to algae growth in your pool. Algae can quickly grow and spread in warm weather conditions, and a mild case can rapidly turn into an infestation overnight. Algae growth comes down to the imbalance or lack of chlorine in your pool water, as algae can raise pH levels in swimming pools. That's why it's essential to get regular pool care and maintenance to avoid an algae outbreak. When hiring experts on maintaining swimming pools, you can request water testing and pool inspection to make sure your swimming pool is not at risk of algae infestation.Â
Look for signs of leakage such as stain level lines, closed valves, damaged gaskets, and more. You can also conduct a simple bucket test, which involves filling a bucket to the same water level as your pool and placing it on the second pool step. After two to three days, check if the water level in the pool has dropped more than the water level in the bucket. If it has, this means there is a leak that needs to be repaired as soon as possible.
This depends on the specific chemical treatment you had for your swimming pool. In general, it’s best to wait at least 20 minutes to an hour if you’ve added chemicals to maintain water balance. For chloride and chlorine, however, it’s recommended to swim only after 24 hours or when your chlorine level has reached five ppm.
Showering helps remove sweat, body lotions, cosmetics, and traces of urine and faecal matter on the body. These substances can contaminate the pool and cause an imbalance in the water's pH levels. When this happens, your pool needs to work harder and requires harsher chemical treatments. Showering before swimming helps ease the burden on your pool, prevents illnesses, and keeps swimming healthy for everyone.
Top Pool Repair related questions
Repair experts can fix and restore almost any in-ground and above-ground pool, including one-piece pools, block and liner pools, wooden and exercise pools, as well as swim spas. When posting your task, make sure to mention the type of your swimming pool and the specific repair services needed. The purpose is to better connect you with a qualified Tasker who's familiar with every component of your pool.
Not necessarily. Your Tasker can bring the tools and equipment required, which will depend on the exact pool repair service you need. The must-haves typically include underwater drills and grinders, pool vacuums, and pressure washers. If you need to seal a leak or cracked wall, you can instruct them to drop by the nearest DIY store and pick up repair putty or patch materials.
The exact duration of the service depends on the severity of the damage, what the repair includes, and the pool type. For example, it only takes a few hours to repair small leaks, but the curing period can take days. Re-grouting, being more intensive, requires long hours to complete. If you have a larger pool, then expect completion of the service to take about a day or two.
Swimming pools are mostly untouched during winter, but that doesn't mean that you can skip your pool maintenance. Taskers can help cover your pool area to protect them from snow and other debris. They can also insulate your pool's pipework, filters, and pumps to get them ahead of winter damages. If you don't want to drain your pool, they can assist with maintaining the right pH and alkaline levels of the water before closing them.
Definitely! Aside from residential pools, there are also plenty of Taskers who can handle minor repairs, restoration, and refurbishment of commercial pools in hotels, sports facilities, universities, holiday parks, and wellness and spa clubs. Many Taskers are familiar with the standards required for commercial pools, which often differ from those for residential properties.
Yes! Airtasker is the ideal place to find specialists who can help not only with repairing existing pools but also with installing water features in your garden or landscape area. Be it an in-ground or above-ground swimming pool, fibreglass or concrete, you can trust your Taskers when it comes to proper planning and installation.

What do swimming pool maintenance and repair services include?
Swimming pool maintenance and repair services encompass everything that's required to keep your pool in great shape. Besides balancing your pool water and adding the right chemical treatments, pool care and maintenance can also include checking for damage or leaks and cleaning your pool filters, sand filter, and pumps. Airtasker makes it easy to find a swimming pool maintenance service nearby to help you with whatever you need - from pool repair to pool cleaning. Here are some of the services included:Â
Pool repair
When facing pool repair, timely action is crucial to prevent further damage. From leak detection to pump replacement, skilled Taskers assess and address issues efficiently. With meticulous attention to detail, they restore functionality, ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience. Trustworthy pool repair services offer peace of mind, preserving your oasis for years to come.
Domestic pool maintenance
Domestic swimming pool maintenance starts with a visual inspection to check if your pool equipment is in good running condition. Pool specialists carefully examine your pumps, motors, and pool filter systems (ex. cartridge filter or sand filter) for signs of damage, and address or repair any leaks and structural cracks. They can also check the pool liner for signs of algae or mould.Â
Afterward, your pool maintenance expert maintains your pool water's pH balance by doing water testing and adding the correct levels of chlorine, alkaline, and other chemicals. If you need more thorough pool cleaning, help in adding pool chemicals, or draining the pool water for a good scrub of the surfaces, you can specify that, too, with Taskers. This way, you can fully enjoy your pool without having to worry about its safety or cleanliness.Â
Once your pool is ready for use, how about getting lessons from a swim instructor? Whether you're an adult needing to polish your swimming skills or a parent looking out for your child, there are plenty of experienced instructors you can hire for safe and professional swimming lessons.
Above-ground pool maintenance
Above-ground pools are becoming increasingly popular, and it's not hard to see why. They not only cost less, but they're also faster to install and easier to maintain. If you need someone to take care of your above-ground pool for you, Airtasker is here to help connect you with specialists on above-ground pool maintenance in your area. They can offer pool vacuum services, brush your walls and tiles, clean your pumps and filters, and balance your pool water. Some specialists can also offer hot tub maintenance or hot tub cleaning services.
If you use your pool often, you can book weekly above-ground pool maintenance, so you can keep your pool clean and well-maintained. Why not take a step further and enhance your backyard? Our platform also lets you find experts who can install pergolas to add to your home's aesthetic appeal. You can even take it up a notch and find contractors who can put up a fence and make your backyard the perfect place to kick back after a long day.
Seasonal pool maintenance
Whether you need to prep your pool for the summer or have it winterised for the cold months, pool service specialists on Airtasker can get it done. A pre-season check can include removing your pool cover, clearing away debris in your pool filter or any filtration system, adding the required chemicals to maintain proper water balance, and reconnecting all pool equipment.
Winter decommissions, on the other hand, involve draining your pool, protecting your pipes, balancing the water chemistry, and finally fitting winter pool covers to protect it from harsh temperatures. With seasonal pool care and maintenance, your pool is kept in excellent condition all year round.Â
If you're opening up your pool for the summer season, maybe you also need a handyman to assemble your outdoor furniture? Or how about someone to put together your new BBQ for that perfect summer grill? Whatever you need to get done, Airtasker can lend a hand!

Electrical works for sauna, hot tub and water filter
£250
Poplar, Greater London
6th Aug 2026
Hi, We’re looking for an experienced electrician to carry out and finish a few electrical jobs at our property in Poplar, E14. 1. Finish 6kW garden sauna installation (main job) The sauna cable installation has already been started. Here’s the current progress: * SWA cable has been run from the garden sauna to the exterior wall of the property. * We’ve found we’re slightly short on the SWA cable, so the proposed solution is to terminate it externally in a weatherproof junction box and joint it to twin & earth cable. * The twin & earth cable would then be run neatly inside white mini trunking along the corridor back to the consumer unit in the laundry room. * The aim is a safe, tidy, and compliant installation with minimal disruption. We already have all the required materials on site. We simply need the installation completed to a high standard with neat cable routing. 2. Outdoor socket / hot tub issue We also have an outdoor socket that appears to be connected, but the hot tub won’t operate from it. It reports an earth/ground fault, so we’d like someone to diagnose whether this is an earthing issue, wiring fault, or something else. 3. Garden pond We also have a garden pond with a brand-new filter system that isn’t working. It may simply be a power supply or fuse issue, but we’d appreciate someone taking a look while on site. I’d suggest coming to view the property first, assessing all three jobs, and then providing a quotation. For the sauna installation, my budget is around £200, although I’m happy to discuss the additional work separately once you’ve inspected everything. If you’re experienced with domestic installations, consumer units, and outdoor electrical work, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you!

E02 error I am looking for someone experienced with inflatable hot tubs to fix a persistent E02 flow error on my Lay-Z-Spa Oslo. This model features the UltraFit integrated (built-in) pump system rather than the external egg unit. The pump is currently turned back on. The top water inlet is pulling water and clearing air, but the system is throwing an E02 code repeatedly after all fixes attempted. What I have already tried: Cleaned and cleared the debris screens and filter housing on the inside wall. Tested the unit without the filter cartridge attached (still throws the error). Flushed water through the inlet to clear any airlocks. Because the screens are clear and it still hums, suspect a small piece of debris or calcium scale has bypassed the screens and jammed the internal motor impeller (propeller), or the impeller shaft itself may need replacing. You will likely need basic tools (screwdrivers) to open the integrated pump housing assembly from the liner to inspect, clear, or replace the water pump impeller (I can supply the parts). Please let me know your experience with Lay-Z-Spa repairs of this model/integrated pump when making an offer
