Hi there! I am looking for an experienced carpenter or highly skilled handyperson to assemble two IKEA PAX wardrobes, install them as custom built-ins (a "PAX hack") in our master bedroom, and paint them for a seamless finish. The wardrobes will be going into the two alcoves on either side of our fireplace. I already have all the flat-pack IKEA boxes ready to go, but I need someone with the carpentry and finishing skills to make them look like high-end custom cabinetry. What the job entails: • Standard Assembly: Build the 2x IKEA PAX frames, doors, and internal organizers. • Securing: Safely and securely mount the frames to the alcove walls. • The "Built-In" Hack: Supply, cut, and fit MDF/filler panels for the sides (c. 15cm gap) and top (c. 44cm gap) so the wardrobes sit completely flush with the walls and ceiling. • Trim & Finish: Add skirting board around the base and coving/trim at the top to match the room. • Prep: Fill, caulk, and sand all gaps, joins, and pre-drilled IKEA holes. • Painting: Prime and paint the wardrobes, MDF filler panels, and trim so everything matches and has a professional, custom finish. What you need to know/bring: • Experience: You must have experience doing built-in cabinetry, specific IKEA PAX hacks, and painting furniture. (Please include photos of your past built-in work in your offer!) • Tools: Please bring all your own tools required for cutting, drilling, securing, and painting. • Extra Materials: I have the IKEA furniture. Please let me know in your offer if you can source and bring the extra MDF, trim, caulk, primer, and paint. I will reimburse you for these materials on top of the labor quote. Measurements: • The Alcoves: 115cm wide x 61cm deep, with a ceiling height of approx. 280cm. • The PAX Frames: 100cm wide x 60cm deep x 236cm high. The utility sized kitchen consists of Wren pre-built carcasses.. You can see from pic, there's just a couple of base units, a narrow tower unit and 5 (1 narrow) wall units.. no corners, no wonky walls etc as room is brand new. Plumber is returning so can connect up taps/waste and appliances, and electrics all in place, so only need the units and worktop, + plinths and filler panels fitted
