Curtain Runner – Reinstallation & Ceiling Repair I’m looking for an experienced handyman to fix a curtain runner that has pulled away from the ceiling. The previous installation was attached to hollow plasterboard rather than solid concrete, and the fixings failed under the weight of the curtains. The runner now needs to be securely reinstalled. The job * Remove the existing runner and failed fixings. * Assess the ceiling and fixing points to determine the safest installation method. * Reinstall the runner securely, level and flush against the ceiling. * Use suitable heavy-duty plasterboard/cavity fixings, such as metal cavity fixings or toggle anchors, or another professional solution. * Use appropriate screws/fasteners. * If suitable, use construction adhesive or adhesive sealant as additional support alongside mechanical fixings, not instead of them. * Re-align the two runner sections so the curtains glide smoothly. * Ensure there is no movement when opening or closing the curtains. * Minimise further ceiling damage and reuse existing fixing points only if structurally suitable. * Tidy minor marks or holes where possible. Tools & materials Please bring all necessary tools and materials, including: * Suitable ladder – essential because the runner is ceiling-mounted. * Drill and appropriate bits. * Heavy-duty plasterboard/cavity fixings. * Suitable screws/fasteners. * Construction adhesive/adhesive sealant if appropriate. * Tools to safely remove and reinstall the runner. I’m happy to reimburse reasonable material costs if agreed in advance. Important This is a rectification of a failed installation, so please apply only if you are experienced with hollow plasterboard ceilings and suitable load-bearing fixings. The finished installation must be secure, professional and safe for the weight of the curtains. Photos of the existing installation and failed fixings below

I need to drill/install two new ikea curtain rods into the wall above two windows. The one window is a higher so will require a ladder (please supply). I have a drill but it is a very basic one. If you have a good one, I suggest that is used instead. I do not know what the wall is made from, but it’s an external wall so I assume brick.
