Hi, I'm looking for someone to fit a new keyed door handle/lock that I've already purchased onto an internal bedroom door in my house in Stevenage. I've already removed the old handle and latch. The new Probrico lock has been trial-fitted and is very close to fitting. It appears it may just need a minor adjustment so the latch sits fully flush, followed by fitting and aligning the supplied strike plate. The new lock, latch, strike plate and all fixings are supplied. The job is to: • Fit the supplied lock. • Make any minor adjustments required for the latch to fit correctly. • Fit and align the supplied strike plate. • Check the handle, latch and key all operate smoothly. The door is an FD30 fire door, so I'd like any alterations to be kept to the minimum necessary. Please let me know your fixed price and earliest availability.

I have to finish to build my shed and move one of the wall, almost done, and replace the base. Then moving back the walls and connect them. A couple of hours top. I'm not posting pictures because it doesn't make any sense. I need someone with me to lift a wooden wall by 20 cm, then I'll tide up the base and then we'll move the wooden wall on its place, just few centimetres away from its actual place. Movinge the others wall close to the one placed and that's it. I'll finish the job by myself. Thanks

The flush button mechanism for my toilet has come loose behind the wooden panel. The grey flush actuator/mechanism is currently being held in place with cable ties; without them it hangs loose, and when the flush button is pressed the whole mechanism moves instead of staying securely mounted. I’m looking for someone to inspect it and properly secure/remount the mechanism, ideally with a suitable bracket/fixing rather than cable ties, and make sure the flush operates correctly. Access is available behind the toilet and I can provide photos. Ideally looking for someone with experience repairing concealed cistern/toilet flush mechanisms. Please bring any appropriate brackets/fixings that may be required.

Looking for an experienced builder/decorator or small team to renovate an approximately 25m² living room in Sutton. I’m looking for a handyman experienced with DIY/roofing to finish the roof of an already mostly-built wooden gazebo in my garden. The gazebo is approximately 3m x 3m and around 2.5m high. The main frame and roof structure are already built, but the gazebo was left unfinished while we were away for around a year. Work required: * Re-secure/re-nail any roof panels/boards that have become loose or disconnected, making sure the roof is properly secured together. * Fit the roofing membrane/felt underlay over the roof. * Install the roof shingles over the membrane to finish the roof. * Make sure everything is properly secured and the roof is left complete and tidy. * There are also four small wooden connection/support pieces near the bottom of the gazebo pillars that need to be reattached/secured. These are small pieces and should simply need to be positioned correctly and nailed back into place. Materials: All required materials are already provided, including the roof pieces/panels, membrane, shingles, nails and other necessary fittings. You will need to bring your own tools and ladder(s) suitable for working at approximately 2.5m height. You are welcome to bring another person to help you if required, particularly because of the size and height of the gazebo. Payment: £225 total for completion of the job. Payment will be made 100% upon satisfactory completion of the agreed work. Ideally looking for someone who can complete this efficiently and leave the gazebo roof fully finished and secure.

I’m looking for a qualified/experienced electrician to carry out several small jobs in my one-bedroom flat in Bow. Lighting: Remove and replace 4 existing ceiling light fittings (living room, dining/office area, hallway and bedroom). I will supply all replacement fittings/bulbs. - Living room: replacement of a flush mount with a pendant fitting and lightweight paper shade. - Dining/office: replace an identical flush mount and install pendant fitting and add a small ceiling hook/fixing so the flex can run from the existing electrical point and hang centrally over the dining table. The fitting has adjustable fabric flex. - Hallway: replace existing flush fitting with pendant fitting with exposed bulb. - Bedroom: replace existing pendant fitting with a new pendant fitting with approx. 2m cable. I’d like to retain as much cable length as possible for potentially repositioning the hanging point later. Smoke alarm: - Replace what appears to be an old mains-powered smoke alarm with battery backup with a new mains-powered alarm that I will supply. - There is also a second, empty alarm mounting plate nearby. I’d like this inspected to establish whether it has wiring / was part of an interconnected system. If it is confirmed to be redundant, I’d like the plate removed and any wiring safely dealt with. Please do not disconnect anything if it appears to form part of the building’s communal fire-alarm system. The flat is on the second floor. I am attaching photos of all the existing fittings and can provide links/photos of the replacements in advance. Looking for someone appropriately qualified for both mains lighting and smoke-alarm work, who can test everything after installation. Please let me know your hourly rate or total estimate, and approximately how long you expect the work to take.
