Wired Video Doorbell (Tapo D130): The Job: Swap my existing exterior Arlo Q Plus wired doorbell for a new Tapo D130 Wired Video Doorbell. The Power Source: I think that the front door wiring runs off a dedicated 24V AC Arlo transformer located inside my main fuse box/consumer unit. The new Tapo D130 will draw continuous, battery-free operational power directly from this 24V line. 4-Core Exterior Wiring Handling: Please note that the existing wiring at the exterior front door consists of 4 blue wires (a 4-core telephone or data cable run where the cores have likely been doubled up or paired off by the previous installer). I need you to test the lines, verify the 24V current, and terminate the active lines safely into the two screw terminals on the back of the Tapo D130 bracket. Data Handling: While it powers over the wire, this doorbell transmits data via wireless. It will connect over the air to my home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Internal Chime Bypass & Wireless Chime Setup: The Job: I need the old internal Arlo wall-mounted chime box completely bypassed/bridged so that the continuous 24V AC current flows directly from the fuse box to the front door without passing through the old physical mechanical chimes. The New Ringer: I have the new Tapo digital plug-in wireless chime (included in the D130 box) ready to plug into a standard hallway mains socket, which will house the system's local MicroSD storage card.
