Whirlpool Generation 2000+ Gas hob. The ignition started to constantly click on despite not being pressed. I cut the power at the fuse box and investigated. The actual ignition element was heavily degraded. I have included pictures. I think an inspection of the whole electronics would he needed to be safe but I removed the connecting metal element inside ignition plug and turned the power back on and the ignition has stopped constantly clicking so it may just need to be replaced. I appreciate the photos the thing is filthy, I cleaned everything, and this is an old appliance and I have only recently moved in.

I have a Dualit toaster which the heating element has stopped working on. i spoke to Dualit who have said it will be a safety precaution and that the fuse will need resetting and then the appliance will need to be retested by a qualified electrician. Would love to get some help with sorting this. Many Thanks
