Cat6 RJ45 re-termination, Richmond
£100
Richmond, Greater London, TW10
12th May 2026
Need a networking installer to re-terminate 4 RJ45 connectors on Cat6 structured cabling in a flat. Two of three wall-mounted access points are linking at 100 Mbps instead of 1 Gbps. Cable tester confirms the cables themselves are fine — termination fault at both ends of two runs. Job: re-terminate 4 ends (both ends of 2 cables), test each run, confirm gigabit negotiation in Omada controller.

We need help getting our own router to work on Plusnet Full Fibre.
£120
St George's Hill, Surrey
15th Mar 2026
Hi, we are trying to use our own router (TP-Link Archer) with our Plusnet full fibre connection, but can’t get it to work. We’ve spent hours on this and been on the phone with both Plusnet and TP-Link support but have not been successful so far. The Archer router is supposed to be easy to install … now we are looking for someone to come and get it up and running. We are in Weybridge.
Mark is super diligent, knowledgeable, patient, and definitely tech-motivated in a very good way. He was quickly able to pinpoint the problem I was having with my router installation. Job done and highly recommended!

Home Assistant Proof of Concept — Local Specialist Wanted
£500
Kingston Hill, Greater London, KT2
14th Mar 2026
I'm building an open-source, privacy-first home server framework — a life management layer (shopping, health, garden, finance) that sits above device control. Everything runs locally, no cloud. I want to connect it to Home Assistant via the REST and WebSocket APIs. HA handles the physical world (lights, sensors, voice), my system handles the thinking. Both local, both talk over the LAN. This is a 2-day proof of concept at my house in Kingston: - Set up HA OS on an Intel N100 mini PC (I'll source hardware) - Get a few Zigbee devices working — couple of bulbs, a sensor or two - Configure local voice: Whisper STT + Piper TTS, one Voice PE satellite - Enable the HA REST/WebSocket API with a long-lived token - Test bidirectional API calls between HA and a Flask app on the LAN - Document what we built What I'm really looking for: more than a one-off job. I want someone local who knows HA deeply and is interested in the bigger picture — where Home Assistant ends and sovereign personal AI begins. The project is open source (EUPL), local-first, and the ambition goes well beyond smart lighting. I'm a software engineer, so no need to explain APIs. But I haven't worked with HA hands-on and I'd rather learn from someone who has. Ideal person: runs HA at home, has opinions about where it's going, finds extending it into life management genuinely interesting. £500 for 2 days. Flexible scheduling — away w/c 16 March but can correspond. Kingston upon Thames, KT2.

Run ethernet cable from my house, through the garden, into outbuilding
£150
Kingfield, Surrey
12th Feb 2026
We need to run an Ethernet cable from the router, through the kitchen, externally across the garden, and into the outbuilding. Existing wiring routes are already in place, so it may be possible to run the Ethernet cable alongside these, which should simplify the installation. The work may require the temporary removal of kitchen units (e.g. cupboards) to access cable routes. Subject to installer experience, we anticipate this to be approximately a three-hour job.
Thanks Sean, great job
