The Plan: We are removing an old leaking shower and replacing it with a fully enclosed, freestanding acrylic shower cabin. Therefore, I just need the old area demolished and a new, perfectly flat tiled floor laid for the cabin to sit on. The waterfall side of my benchtop is developing a crack along the joint. It appears that the adhesive bond between the two pieces is failing. I suspect the waterfall panel does not have proper structural support where it attaches to the cabinet, so the weight has been carried mainly by the joint, which has led to this issue.
