We’re looking for a friendly, organised and reliable person to assist as an usher for our wedding ceremony at a Catholic church in St Kilda East on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Our ceremony begins at 2:00pm, and we would ideally need you there from around 1:15pm to get familiar with the church, music and order of entrances. Responsibilities will include: Welcoming guests as they arrive Handing out wedding ceremony booklets Guiding guests on where to sit Politely reminding guests that we are having an unplugged ceremony/no phones during the ceremony Making sure all guests are seated before the wedding procession begins Playing the entrance/processional music at the correct cues Helping with the church doors for the bridal entrance if required General assistance to make sure everything runs smoothly before and at the beginning of the ceremony The ceremony will be a Catholic nuptial ceremony without Mass and should finish at approximately 2:45pm. We’ll provide clear instructions beforehand, including the order of entrances, music tracks and cues, so you’ll know exactly what needs to happen. Experience with weddings, events, ushering or ceremony coordination would be great, but most importantly we’re looking for someone who is punctual, confident, well-presented and comfortable giving guests directions. Main tasks will include serving drinks to guests, making simple cocktails (mainly Spicy Margaritas & Aperol Spritzes), keeping the bar/drinks area stocked and tidy, clearing glasses/rubbish throughout the night, and helping with general clean-up.
