Finding a spot for mounting

They may suggest a different spot for the TV to have the best wireless signal to the internet if it’s a smart TV. Drilling holes on the wall and installing mounting plates

I have bought a TV Wall Mount (see photo) and tried to install it on my wall, but wasn't able to get it to remain fixed. I need someone to mount it properly. This is for a apartment in Carlton (I don't have parking in the building) with plaster walls and metal studs.
