I'm getting new window blinds installed on Wednesday and the blind installers have asked me to fix a 50mmx20mm wooden batten in the top of each window so that they can fix the new blinds to them. The walls are brick so you would need to supply suitable fasteners. I have purchased and pre-painted the timber so no need to supply. I have 2 x wooden venetian blinds that need repair. On one blind, the slats do not open/close properly; on the other blind, the vertical mechanism does not raise and lower properly.

I understand this might be a specialist job as the two blinds are 22 year old Luxaflex cedar blinds about 6 foot long. Interested to hear from anyone. Will pay a decent price for labour and a quote.

My windows are about 2.5 to 3 m high. I just have some curtains to hang up (easy ones) on a curtain rod, need two people with a big ladder to reach it. Should only take 10 or 20 min.
