This job really requires a builder/carpenter who really knows what they’re doing. My attic ladder recent separated from the piece of wood that held it securely in the ceiling. An unskilled handyman made a real mess of a repair and whilst it now works it looks really bad. Unfortunately this job is considered too small for most tradespeople and companies that make and sell attic ladders want to sell me a new ladder as well. So I’m hoping this post might help me find someone with the right skills who is willing to do a smallish job. I cante seem to select the date I need it done by but late Jan would be great.

Airtasker is suggesting a budget range between $176 to $375, however, we will be supplying the attic ladder: a Bailey 2.34-3.12m 170kg aluminium folding attic ladder. I would also like to get the job done ASAP, so would be willing to negotiate around availability.

The hinge bolt on one side of the folding ladder has snapped with excessive wear. I removed the whole plate and the bolt looks to have been soldered on.
