Looking for a carpenter or experienced handyman to repair an old timber side gate at a Subiaco property. It is a heavy ledged and braced gate, arched top, hung on a timber post fixed to a limestone wall. The gate swings inward. ISSUES: 1. The gate has dropped and now rubs on the closing side so it does not shut properly. The existing pin-and-strap hinges are worn and rusting. Both hinges need replacing and the gate rehung square. 2. The ring handle has come off and the latch no longer works. The timber around the old handle is split and the screw holes are chewed out, so it needs making good before new hardware is fitted. 3. There is a split with some rot at the top of the closing stile that needs cutting back, filling or splicing, and repainting. SCOPE: - Replace both hinges with heavy duty galvanised or stainless through-bolted hinges and rehang the gate square so it closes and latches cleanly - Repair the timber around the handle and at the top of the closing stile - Supply and fit a new two-part gate latch (D&D LokkLatch Deluxe S3 or equivalent) that operates and locks from both sides. Pack out the latch post with a hardwood mounting block if the existing face is too narrow. - Refit the existing cast ring handle as a pull, repairing the split timber behind it - Plane the closing edge only if genuinely required after rehanging, and seal any cut edge NOTES: - Please diagnose and correct the drop first. I do not want the gate simply planed to clear the rub. - Hardware will be supplied, or quote for it separately. - Please bring your own tools, and a small offcut of hardwood in case the latch post needs packing out. - Must be comfortable working with older timber and fixing into limestone or render if the post needs attention. - Happy to send photos of the hinges, handle and closing stile.

The recent Perth storms has half pushed over about a 5m section of fencing and need it removed and replaced with anything that works (not concerned about matching it with anything). Unfortunately the panels (most of them ) are asbestos.

I am looking for someone to install a pinelap fence extension on top of our existing pinelap fence. The length is 24m of boundary fencing. The height of the current pinelap fence slopes from 1.0m down to 0.6m, therefore the height of the extension will be from 0.8m to 1.2m , to bring the total height of the fence to 1.8m (the ground slopes hence the difference). The photos show the current old lattice which will be removed and an example of exactly how the new fence extension should look. Contractor to supply all materials please. Our old wooden fence has come down. We need to get a new colorbond fence installed. The fence is just 7.7m long. Need 1.8m or 2.1m high. Work includes removing all old fence and posts and disposing all rubbish. This work is for a visit and quote for the job.

Looking for someone to construct and install a wooden gate at the top of our stairs. We had one previously done through here but the person is no longer working.
