The dial on the wall switch for a celing fan is stuck on, the dial wont turn off anymore, it wont rotate left or right, so is stuck on level 1, it needs a replacement switch more than likely, unless you think it can be fixed? The internal dial is stiff which is stuck, the knob over the top just spins over the dial, without the speed changing or turning off

Can someone please help me to take down my ceiling fan, I’ve unscrewed it and it’s hanging down but I couldn’t disconnect it because it’s old and doesn’t just unscrew at the wires.

Cleaners have caused the tip cover of my ceiling fan to drop, revealing the wiring and fixing. I have very tall vaulted ceilings so would need a tall ladder, minimum 4 meters tall. The ladder can be brought in over a balcony and through French doors so ladder access will not be a problem. We will also be there to assist.
