Here’s the updated version: I’ve got a storage area under my house that was left in rough condition by the previous owners. It needs a complete refresh to make it properly usable again, as a sauna and home gym are going in next to it. The previous owners cemented over clay, which is part of why the space is in the state it’s in now. There’s loose material and debris that needs clearing out. I’m open on the best approach here – either a concrete pour or timber decking would work, and I’m happy to take recommendations from someone who knows what’ll hold up best long-term, especially given the clay substrate. There’s also some wall and panel work that might need attention depending on what you find when you assess it. What I’m after is a clean, sealed, functional storage space that looks good as part of the overall wellness area. I’m flexible on whether that ends up being a proper concrete finish or a timber platform – I just want something that’s usable, built to last, and looks the part next to the sauna and gym. Looking for someone to build a custom timber cash register platform for a shop counter. I've attached a drawing that I created with ChatGPT. I had to make some slight adjustments for it to be correct. Overall dimensions: • 690mm long • 450mm wide The cash register footprint is: • 415mm x 415mm Requirements: • The cash register needs to sit 75mm above the counter surface. • A 20mm retaining lip is required around the cash register footprint only (front, left side, right side, and rear of the cash register footprint). • The retaining lip is there to stop the register sliding forwards, sideways, or backwards. To save material and cost, the platform does not need to be 75mm thick for the full 690mm length. Hence why I dropped it down to just 20mm at the back. It needs to be 690mm long because the back of it will sit against the back of the point of sale shelving, which will hold the unit in position. I've attached a photo of our current temporary setup, where we have some timber shelving underneath the cash register to give it the height. Behind the cash register is a block of wood which is stopping the cash register from sliding too far back. This is the setup I'm looking to replace. I am happy for the successful tasker to suggest the simplest and most cost effective way to build it.
