Haier washing machine was cleaned on the weekend. I took the retaining ring off with force and now can’t get it back on. I’ve bought a spring tool but it doesn’t expand enough to fit around the edge. Does anyone have any experience in this or has a thin tool head that can insert through the tiny loops then can expand the spring by more than 12cm?

I just moved house and haven’t been able to install my existing washing machine properly.
