Also hoping to make the gate more secure so it can’t be opened easily from outside — open to a simple, low-cost solution (like adding a padlock latch or better locking setup). 2️⃣ Timber fence: Around 7 fence palings have come off or become loose and need to be nailed or screwed back to the horizontal rails. Old metal gate has 1 rusted shut hinge and the other hinge has snapped. The pin in both has rusted and fused. Also the bolt has rusted and does not turn going into the fence. Require old hinges to be removed from the fence and gate and new hinges *2 installed. Will require most likely a metal grinder to cut off old hinges that were welded. Welding equipment, to weld new hinges on. A drill that can drill into the steel gate as the bolt holes do not exactly align with the previous hinges.
