I’m looking for a carpenter or someone with strong carpentry skills to complete a few finishing jobs around the house. 1. Refit / install skirting boards There are two areas that need skirting put back on: * Bedroom with newly installed built-in wardrobes – the existing skirting was removed to accommodate the wardrobes and now needs to be cut/modified and refitted neatly around them. * Spare bedroom corner – the skirting was removed due to previous pet damage, and the carpet was pulled back. This now needs to be reinstated. I have most of the original skirting pieces that were removed, including the pieces from around the wardrobes. I also have some additional new skirting available if required. I’m looking for someone who is confident with accurate cutting, joining, measuring and fitting skirting, particularly around corners/wardrobes, and who can achieve a clean, professional finish. Please note: I will be doing all the sanding, filling and painting myself. This job is purely for the cutting, fitting and fixing of the skirting. 2. Hang a new internal door I also need a brand-new internal door hung. The door has not had the hinges/hardware cut in yet, so this will require the appropriate hinge recessing/preparation and fitting. There was previously a door in this opening, so the existing frame and previous hinge positions can be used as a guide. I already have the door and all required hardware — I just need someone experienced to measure, cut/prep and hang it properly. Ideally looking for someone with carpentry experience who takes pride in getting a neat, accurate finish.

I need someone to reinstall a curtain rod above a window. The curtain rod was installed before, but it has come loose and damaged the wall around the mounting holes (see photos). I need someone to assess the wall and securely reinstall the rod. I am not sure whether it can be installed in the exact same location or if the brackets need to be moved slightly to create new fixing points. Replace laundry door and install dog door We are renting and have our landlord’s permission to temporarily replace our existing laundry door with another door fitted with a dog door. The original door will be stored and reinstalled when we move out. Existing door size: • 1975 mm (H) • 820 mm (W) • 35 mm thick We need someone to: • Source (or we buy) a suitable new or second hand solid timber/solid-core replacement door (e.g https://trade.bunnings.com.au/hume-2040-x-820-x-35mm-external-door-duracote-flush-stpc_p1974973) • Trim it to size if required • Transfer the existing hinges, lock and deadlock to the new door • Install a small dog door (we will supply the dog door) • Hang and adjust the replacement door so it opens, closes and locks correctly We understand our door size is non-standard, so the replacement door may require trimming. Install cat door (supplied) in an internal door. I’m confident this is an uncomplicated task. The door is for a small under stairs area - easy to remove - 100cm high, 52cm wide and 2cms thick.
