Twin front pedestrian steel gates no longer close and latch properly because the gap between the two brick side pillars has reduced by approx 10mm at the top vs the bottom due to street tree roots. Hinges can no longer be adjusted to accommodate. Would therefore like the RHS gate to be modified so as to reduce its width by ~10mm. This will involve cutting this amount off each of nine internal 10mm steel rods and the top and bottom frame, grinding back the stumps, re-welding the shortened rods back to the gate frame, and re-Installing to ensure normal gate and latch operation. Owner will re- paint as required.

I need a proper external lock installed on my timber gate in Subiaco so I can open and lock it from both sides (like a normal external door). Job includes: • removing the existing latch • installing a deadlock or gate lockset (key both sides) • drilling/chiselling the mortice in the gate • fitting the striker plate into the brick pier • making sure the gate closes smoothly • sealing any old screw holes Gate is solid timber and easy to access from both sides (photos attached). Top of front gate rubs against support. Seems to have sagged over the years. The middle part and lower part of gate don’t rub on support. I have no idea how to fix this, so that’s why I’m here to get your help. Please note - can’t just bend support the other way as doing so will affect the closing/opening of the doors next to it.
