Hi, I am looking for a handyman/carpenter to modify my existing timber side gate so that it opens outwards instead of inwards. The gate is an old timber gate and is currently hinged to a timber post/foundation attached to the side of the house. I’d like the hinges and latch replaced if required so it can open outwards instead while remaining secure and easy to use. Scope of works: 1. Assess the existing gate and hardware 2. Modify or relocate the hinges so that the gate opens outwards. 3. Refit or adjust the latch so it works correctly. 4. Ensure the gate is aligned properly and opens / closes smoothly. 5. The D-latch handle on my metal gate is broken and needs to be replaced. Please supply and install a compatible replacement D-latch handle (black colour) and ensure the gate operates correctly. Photos are attached.

The existing gate needs to be widened, as the current opening does not provide sufficient clearance for semi-trucks to turn safely into the site. We want to increasing the gate opening to approximately 7–8 metres to allow adequate turning clearance and improve access for heavy vehicles.

I had to remove a side gate to allow access for a battery installation. The gate now needs to be reinstalled four metres from its original location. Near to the down-pipe. There is sufficient space.The side gate fits perfectly and only requires installation. The work is straightforward: one post will need to be secured to the building with a screw, and the other to the fence. The door also needs to be reversed so it opens by pulling instead of pushing. The task should take no more than 45 minutes.

Repair security screen door lock. Install side gate lock that locks on both sides. Install digital lock on another door.
