Task Description: Looking for an experienced gardener or landscaper to carefully dig up, amend the soil, and replant a row of Lilly Pilly trees (about 20 of them) in my backyard. As you can see in the photos, these trees were planted about three years ago, but growth is extremely slow and they are not lush. They were planted in very hard clay soil without proper digging or quality garden soil added at the time. Despite fertilizing several times, they are struggling. They need to be temporarily dug out so the clay can be broken up, mixed with quality garden soil, and replanted correctly. ⚠️ CRITICAL NOTE / UTILITY WARNING: There is an underground rainwater drainage pipe running very close to the trees, stretching along almost half of the row. Avoiding damage to this pipe is the utmost priority. You must be extremely careful when digging in this area. Scope of Work: 1- Carefully dig up the existing row of Lilly Pilly trees without damaging the root systems or the nearby drainage pipe. 2- Excavate the hard clay soil: Note that I do not want the entire garden bed removed. Instead, you will need to excavate a large, properly sized hole for each individual tree, taking extreme care around the pipe. 3- Dispose of/remove the excavated clay soil completely from the property. 4- Amend the soil: For each hole, break up the base, mix in high-quality garden soil/compost (open to your advice on what to supply or what I should buy). 5- Replant the Lilly Pillies and ensure they are watered in well. Backyard Access Details: The backyard can be accessed in two ways: a- Through a standard small pedestrian door at the back of the garage. b- I can temporarily remove a section of the side fence facing the side street. We have removed this fence section before for backyard access, so it is a viable option for a wheelbarrow or equipment. An on-site inspection is welcome.
