Remove a plaster a section of a wall above a fireplace

I am in the process of purchasing an electric fire place - Rinnai ES 1800 1.8KW Electric fireplace. I am currently look for quotes on installation which will also include setting up an electric power point for the fire place ( I can find someone separately if required). The installation would be similar to the picture attached the only difference being that the upper wall will not be that long i.e. will not go to the ceiling but rather similar to the bottom part. Am happy to get suggestions and offers.

A pre-made DIY kitset. 10 sectional components of which 2 only requires mortaring. Mortar provided. Made of very heavy concrete (510kgs in total). Tools required for install (which are not provided) are bucket, gloves, sponge, masking tape, level, extendable ruler, scraper. See pictures. Suggested assumbly time is 60 mins by 2 to 3 people. Note: there is a 3rd chimney extension, where the spark arrestor is to be installed between the final chimney extension and before installing the chimney cover ie steps 20 and 21 of the instruction book (pictured). Clean the bricks around an old wood burning stove in my kitchen. There is a very hard plaster covering the bricks that needs removing with either a hand chisel or powered hammer drill. I can provide all tools. You'll need to be fairly strong as the plaster is rock hard. The total area is about 2 square metres.
