Seeking an experienced carpenter or pergola installer to supply and install a minimalist timber pergola in a courtyard. The structure uses matching 90 mm posts and beams, with 240 mm beam depth for stiffness and a clean architectural profile. All connections must be concealed or minimalistic to achieve a seamless visual finish. Structure Requirements • Posts: 90×90 mm H4 treated pine • Beams: 90×240 mm LVL (no overhang; beams sit flush on posts) • Cross‑ties: 90×45 mm timber battens at ¾ height for trellis mesh • Span: Approx. 4 m • Load: Decorative only (festoon lights + ivy canopy) Beam‑to‑Post Connections • Beams must sit flush on top of posts with no overhang. • Concealed brackets or half‑housing joints required. • No visible external pergola brackets. • Once painted, the beam and post should appear as a single continuous element. Ledger Board (House Wall Connection) • Supply and install a 90×240 mm LVL ledger to match beam dimensions. • Ledger must align perfectly with the beam’s top, bottom, and front faces for a seamless look. • Two circular penetrations must be cut through the ledger to allow existing wall light cabling to pass through cleanly. • Ledger top must be either:• Bevel‑cut (splayed) to shed water, or • Covered with slim flashing to prevent water pooling. • Final ledger colour to be either Monument grey or off‑white (to match house wall), depending on final design choice. Footings • Four concrete footings already installed. • Posts to be fixed using bolt‑down stirrups sized for 90 mm posts. Finish • Clean architectural detailing. • All timber to be painted Monument grey or off‑white depending on final design direction. Access Access to the courtyard is via the garage, through a single door. No internal house access required.
