Hi everyone, I'm planning to replace my gas cooktop with an induction cooktop and install a new range hood. My current setup is shown in the photos: I have a freestanding gas cooktop and an electric oven. I'm not sure whether my existing range hood is ducted or recirculating. I asked ChatGPT based on the photos, and it suggested that it might be a recirculating model. However, I also noticed a small vent on the outside wall that seems to line up with the cooktop area, so now I'm not sure. I'd really appreciate any advice from anyone who's done a similar upgrade: 1. Should I buy a ducted range hood or a recirculating one? 2. Do I need to hire two separate tradespeople—an electrician to check/install the high-power circuit for the induction cooktop, and a licensed gas fitter to disconnect and cap off the gas line? Replace existing old gas cooktop, the original one is narrow in size, so probably need some small cut job on the benchtop.

There are two pipes running in parallel from the meter to the house, see the attached photos 1. cooktop and heater 2. hot water unit. What needs to be done: 1. Cap off a pipe At the copper T junction at the gas meter, cap off the one to the cooktop and heater. (1'' copper tube) 2. Reconnect cooktop and heater to another pipe At the hot water unit(3/4'' copper), add a T junction, and connect cooktop and heater(1/2'') to it. current joints are under the house, need about 2.5m and 5m 1/2'' pipe to connect them.
