The cooktop can still be lit manually using a gas lighter, as the gas supply appears to be working normally (gas can be heard and smelled when the burner knobs are turned on). However, the cooktop is not producing the usual clicking or sparking sound required for automatic ignition.

disconnect rangehood, Gas cooktop and 60cmx60cm oven and reinstall new ones, I will dispose of old ones. There is also a downlight above the rangehood that doesn't work for some reason, have replaced bulb but still doesn't work.

Miele gas cooktop burner has stopped working over time. The Issue: When the knob is pressed down, there is absolutely NO clicking sound/spark, but I can smell gas. The gas cuts off normally when I let go of the knob. Knobs, the spindle shaft, and the burner/igniter pin looks clean and dry. Need a technician to open the cooktop housing and diagnose if it's a worn-out microswitch harness or a faulty spark module. Note: This budget is for the call-out and diagnosis/labour.
