The role is centered around conversation. You will meet with clients, guide them through interviews, ask meaningful follow-up questions, and help uncover the stories, memories, and experiences that have shaped their lives. Interviews will be recorded and later used by our writing team to create each client’s memoir, so you will not be responsible for writing the book itself. We are looking for someone who is naturally easy to talk to, a strong listener, and genuinely interested in hearing people’s stories. You should be comfortable speaking with older adults and family members, creating a relaxed environment, and knowing when to dig deeper into an interesting memory or detail. Professionalism, patience, reliability, and strong communication skills are very important. Experience in journalism, reporting, interviewing, communications, podcasting, writing, or oral history is preferred, but we are also open to candidates who simply have excellent people skills and a natural ability to carry meaningful conversations. Interviews may take place in person or over Zoom depending on the client. Interviews will consist of approximately 6–8 sessions, with each session lasting around two hours.

We’re looking for someone local to Los Angeles and great at research to help uncover unique, less-obvious venues for a large Orthodox Jewish wedding. We want someone who can think creatively and dig deeper. Possibilities include warehouses, soundstages/studios, vacant retail or showroom spaces, museums, cultural spaces, private estates, gardens, architectural properties, event compounds, or other large blank-canvas spaces that could be transformed. Requirements: • 400–500 seated guests + large dance floor • Space for ceremony/chuppah, cocktails & reception • Must allow an outside Glatt kosher caterer • Prefer ability to supply our own alcohol with licensed bartenders • Prefer outside florist, rentals, lighting & production • Parking/valet must be feasible We can bring in tables, chairs, draping, lighting, catering equipment, etc. It does NOT need to currently operate as a wedding venue. Task: Find 15–20 genuinely promising options and provide contact info, capacity, approximate cost, catering/alcohol policies, parking, restrictions and why each could work. Looking for someone to walk through a commissary (grocery store) on a military base for me and take notes. You'll follow a simple checklist — measuring/photographing things like the loading dock, storage area, floors, and equipment, and asking a few questions to staff on site. Prefer someone with a facilities management or construction background — you'll be sizing up building layout and equipment condition, so that experience will make your notes a lot more useful to me. Visit starts 11am Central, plan on 1-2 hours total. It's on a military base, so you'll need a valid photo ID and I'll need your full name and date of birth beforehand to get you cleared for access.
