I have a lamp that is from the USA. As soon as I put the plug into an adapter into my British socket, the bulb blew and I’m assuming the fuse did too. I am looking to get it rewired so I can use it in my London home. I am based in Stepney Green, East London.

I tripped over a lamp whilst redecorating and broke the ES | E27 lamp holder. I've ordered a replacement as I thought the rewiring would be simple but it doesn't work. Would be great if someone could come fix this, hopefully it's a simple job and I'm just making a simple mistake.
