A switch in the cooker is faulty and will not turn off the hob even if you switch it off. This was the cause of a minor fire incident. The landlord claims that the damaged was *caused* by the fire (rather than it was the *cause* of the fire, as I'm claiming). I need an electrician to look at the cooker and confirm what the cause of the damaged switch may be (i.e. if it could have been damaged by a fire or not). I will need this confirmed in a note or email and I want to use it in my negotiations with the landlord. This needs to be by end of Thursday as on Friday 13 Sep the landlord will replace the cooker with a new one.
