The exterior finish has worn away, with dark staining and surface wear along the outside edge. The timber feels very firm when pressed, but a little moss has started growing in a crack. Photos attached. I’d like someone to assess the timber, remove the moss, prepare and sand the surface, carry out any necessary local repairs, and apply a durable finish suitable for an exposed exterior threshold. The existing concrete slab appears generally solid and level with no major cracking, sinking or broken sections. The main issue is surface deterioration, loose sand/grit/small aggregate and a few locally deeper worn patches. I will do most of the basic preparation beforehand, including pressure washing, sweeping/brushing, removing loose material, cleaning the edges and clearing the preparation waste.
