Here are the details: • Approximately 25-30 metres of CAT cable running underground between the two properties. • Cable to terminate in the main house's office room. • The main house entry point will require drilling through the exterior wall to bring the cable inside. • The purpose is to share the main house's internet connection with the granny flat. • There is an existing cable at the granny flat end that has been cut outside the house and was never connected — this may need to be assessed as part of the job. I’m looking for someone to help with the following tasks: 1) Replace an existing doorbell, swapping from Eufy to Reolink. Ethernet run is right next to switch. 2) Install a roof mounted camera and run an Ethernet cable through the roof space. (Two options, run cable from switch or add a POE switch to an existing ethernet cable run in roof space). 3) Run an Ethernet cable to the side of the house. I can provide more details and photos during discussion. (Couple options, but would need to discuss alot more on how to run this). 4) Wall mount a monitor and connect power. There is an existing powerpoint nearby, I need a neat hole made in the wall for cable routing (or if you have an alternative idea). I have a single 20m CAT 6 ethernet cable that can be used, all the equipment for the wall mounted monitor I have. Network Technician – Mesh WiFi, Ubiquiti Links & Hikvision Cameras (Belmont QLD) I’m looking for an experienced network technician to assist with upgrades advice and consulting for improvements to the network assessment The property includes a main residence, front shed, and granny flat, and currently uses a mix of Ubiquiti wireless links, routers, and Hikvision cameras. 1. Improve WiFi in Main Residence • Internet connection at router (located in the main residence triple garage) is approximately 700 Mbps. • WiFi coverage throughout the house is poor and intermittent. • Require installation and configuration of a high-quality mesh WiFi system. • Target: minimum 250 Mbps wireless coverage throughout the residence. • House is steel frame construction, so experience with this type of installation is important. 2. Upgrade Network Link – Main House to Front Shed • Currently using a Ubiquiti line-of-sight wireless link between the main residence and front shed. • Current speed is approximately 70 Mbps. • Suspected bottleneck is 100 Mbps unmanaged switches at each end. • Need switches upgraded and network optimised to improve throughput. 3. Install Network Link – Main House to Granny Flat • Currently no connection between the main house and granny flat. • Need installation of a Ubiquiti point-to-point line-of-sight link to provide network connectivity. 4. CCTV Expansion (Hikvision) Existing Hikvision 16-port system with 10 cameras currently in use. Required: • Install multiple external cameras on the granny flat • Install 2 additional cameras in the front shed • Configure and integrate cameras into the existing Hikvision system. Notes I’m a builder, so I can assist with running cables, mounting equipment, installing conduits or antennas if required. Please respond only if you have experience with: • Hikvision CCTV systems • Mesh WiFi systems • Ubiquiti point-to-point links • Networking in steel frame houses
